An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Surrey are for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Operation:
Operate and drive HGV Class 2 vehicles, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
Carry out routine vehicle checks before and after each journey, reporting any issues promptly.
Loading and Unloading:
Safely load and unload construction equipment, machinery, and materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
Ensure that loads are securely fastened and distributed to maintain vehicle stability during transit.
Delivery and Collection:
Transport construction plant equipment to and from construction sites, customer locations, and company facilities.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with customers and site personnel.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Complete accurate paperwork, including delivery notes, timesheets, and vehicle inspection reports.
Keep detailed records of deliveries, collections, and any incidents, reporting them to the appropriate personnel.
Communication:
Maintain effective communication with the transport team, site managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Provide updates on delivery schedules and any delays, ensuring clear and timely communication.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Report any vehicle defects or malfunctions promptly and follow company procedures for maintenance and repair.
Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition, both internally and externally.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including tachograph regulations and working time directives.
Adhere to health and safety protocols during loading, unloading, and transportation activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
Digital tachograph card.
Previous experience in driving HGV Class 2 vehicles, preferably within the construction or plant hire industry.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
