We are a dynamic and expanding company with a growing order book, based in Tilbury, Essex. Our expertise spans the Design, Manufacture, Installation, Sales, Repair, and Examination of Lifting, Securing, and Height Safety Equipment, as well as Structural Steelwork, Marine, and General Engineering.

Position: Production & Workshop Supervisor (Structural Steel and Welding Fabrication)

We are seeking an experienced Production & Workshop Supervisor to oversee a busy steel fabrication workshop, ensuring operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop Supervision: Oversee daily operations of the steel fabrication workshop.
Scheduling: Collaborate with the operations manager to plan and prioritize the manufacturing schedule.
Workforce Management: Allocate tasks to meet changing deadlines and site delivery requirements.
Fabrication Review: Examine fabrication drawings before they are issued to the workshop.
Problem Solving: Work with Designers to identify and resolve issues.
Quality Control: Conduct quality checks prior to delivery.
Process Improvement: Enhance job management and workplace organization to comply with health, safety, and quality standards.
Staff Development: Motivate, support, and assist in staff training and development.
Communication: Conduct workshop briefings and toolbox talks.
Inventory Management: Manage and reorder welding consumables and equipment stock.
Safety Equipment: Issue and monitor workshop PPE.
Documentation Control: Maintain manufacturing documents and records in line with EN1090 & ISO9001 management systems.
Audit Preparation: Prepare for workshop audits for EN1090, ISO9001 & ISO45001 management systems.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of specialized products and services, moving beyond standard construction and house building steelwork to tackle new and exciting projects.
