An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Newbury area for an experienced Vehicle technician
Responsibilities:
-Vehicle Diagnostics: Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using advanced equipment and specialized tools to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately.
-Repairs and Maintenance: Perform a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs and maintenance tasks on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and steering system repairs.
-Service Recommendations: Provide accurate and detailed service recommendations based on diagnostic findings and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and best practices.
-Parts Management: Identify required parts and ensure their availability for timely completion of repairs. Communicate with the Parts Department for ordering and receiving parts as needed.
-Quality Assurance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are carried out to the highest quality standards and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
-Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance activities using digital systems or manual logs.
-Customer Interaction: Communicate technical information and repair recommendations to customers in a clear and understandable manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, service advisors, and management to streamline workflow, share knowledge, and ensure efficient service delivery.
-Tool Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain workshop tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
-Continued Learning: Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies, industry trends, and manufacturer-specific training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
- Relevant certifications such as ASE or equivalent are advantageous.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and digital service manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and customers effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
